Full

Lent starts today! Herself and I thought it would be fun to do Rethink Church's Lent photo-a-day challenge. Sometimes I will post a photo and other times Herself will write a short post on her blog.

Today's word prompt is FULL.

Full of beauty.

Hide and Seek in Ikea

I went with Herself and Himself to Ikea a couple of evenings ago. Wooo, what a place. I drove Herself demented with hiding in all sorts of places. I had fun, not sure about anyone else....

We've arrived!

Small-bear-sized furniture.

In the jungle, the mighty jungle,
the Scamper sleeps tonight...

These pandas are very friendly.

I'm not sure Owl is very impressed with my hiding place.

Lit-up arrows on the floor showed us where to go.
I just enjoyed the ride.

So many candles!
(This is Herself's favourite part of the shop.)

Hee hee!

The warehouse is HUGE.
Wouldn't want to get lost here.

Hitching a ride with Himself.

Handy blue bags.

When you're through the tills and think you're done...
there's CHOCOLATE.

No trip to Ikea would be complete without a hot dog.

Bakewell

I recently had a day trip to Bakewell with Herself and auntie Elizabeth. It was very cold and Herself did her usual of parking up and then immediately forgetting where she'd left the car. That made for a fun game of hide and seek at the end of the day in the freezing rain...

All tucked in and ready for the off.

Beautiful (the river, not me).

Wise advice.

What to choose...

You can't beat homemade soup with garlic bread on a cold day. Yum.

Despite the cold and the rain and losing the car,
we had a GREAT day!

Newcastle

I hope you had a happy Christmas and New Year. I made a new friend called Bertie, who I'll introduce you to below, and we went to Newcastle with Herself for a few days. Lots of fun had by all.

Here's the gang on Christmas Day showing off our marvellous scarves, knitted by Herself
(a very talented lady).
Back Row: Kik-A-Boo, Fred, Huggy, Amadeus.
Front Row: me, Puccini, Sandy.

Bertie (a Beefeater all the way from Harrod's, handpicked by Himself) and me.
Love the Angel of the North's Santa hat.

I love this photo of me in my new scarf.

I went for a scamper along the Quayside on the evening we arrived.
Bertie stayed at the hotel because he 'needed to guard' the chocolates we'd brought with us....
Here I am posing in front of the Millennium Bridge.

Sage Gateshead.

You can just see the Millennium Bridge lit up blue behind me.

Next day Bertie and I enjoyed the Quayside together.

Tyne Bridge.

Having fun at the Metrocentre.

We caught a train to Whitley Bay. It was very windy and cold.
If you look closely you can just make out an aeroplane and St Mary's Lighthouse above my head.

I love the clouds in this photo, at Whitley Bay.

The Baltic behind us is a (weird) contemporary art gallery.

The art may be a bit strange but you get a great view from the Baltic.

I hope you enjoyed my photos of Christmas and visiting Newcastle.

Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas

It's very Christmassy in our house. Presents under the tree, carols playing, notes everywhere reminding Herself to defrost the turkey, tinsel in every nook and cranny.
Because tomorrow is Jesus' birthday! Yay!

Happy Birthday Jesus!

Mary and Joseph had to leave their home and travel down south to Bethlehem.
Mary was pregnant and Donkey got tired and kept lying down.
But everyone smiled.

By the time they arrived everywhere was full and they ended up with the animals.
Eugh.
Donkey was happy though.

May and Joseph didn't get much rest that night because Jesus arrived.
Donkey looked on and smiled.

Other people were busy that night too...
An angel freaked out some shepherds who'd pulled the night shift.
'The Saviour of the World has just been born!'

The shepherds (with Sheep 1 and Sheep 2) went straight into town to see the new baby.
Everyone smiled.

Even more people were busy that night.
In the east, some wise men suddenly spotted an unusual star.
'Oooooh look, that means a new king has just been born. Let's go and see him.'

Camel, accompanied by the wise men, travelled all the way to Bethlehem.
They brought the baby King Jesus special gifts:
gold (nice),
myrrh (smelly),
and frankincense (no idea ??Frankenstein).
Everyone smiled.

Merry Christmas everyone and thanks for visiting my blog!
Squishy bear hugs from Scamper xx
